Why pima cotton yarn...?

Pima cotton is grown primarily in Peru, Southwestern United States and Australia. Also known as Extra Long Staple due to its long threads (similar to Egyptian cotton). It is this characteristic that makes Pima cotton very durable and a popular material for towels and clothing. Named after a group of American Indians who first cultivated the plant in the US, Pima cotton is considered one the superior cottons.

I adore working with Pima cotton, it is super soft and has a lovely drape. Perfect for scarves and shawls, ideal for soft and warm blankets, and even some pieces of clothing - I have several tops crocheted in Pima cotton!

Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!
