:: Merry Christmas!! ::

Updated: Apr 27, 2019

I've been totally rubbish at keeping up with blogging I do apologise! Its been the first full year of selling from the website and it has been brilliant! Thank you all for being so supportive and fabulous! Going to end the year with a Christmassy post with the pattern for mini stockings. I had a lovely customer share the link with me as she is going to use next years Paperchain club to make them into a stocking advent calendar! The original pattern is here but I've made a couple of small adjustments. I sewed in my ends as I went along, or crocheted over them where I could!

TOE – worked in yarn A

Using yarn A make a magic loop

Round 1: Ch 1 (does not count as stitch), 6DC into loop, close loop and slip stitch into first DC (6 stitches)

Round 2: Chain 1. 2HTC in each stitch round. At end of round slip stitch into first HTC (12 stitches)

Round 3:Chain 1. 2HTC in first stitch (same stitch as the one with slip stitch). 1 HTC in next stitch. Repeat *2HTC, 1HTC* 5 more times to complete round. At end of round slip stitch into first HTC (18 stitches) Sew first end in so you don't have to turn inside out at the end!

Round 4: Chain 1. 1 HTC in each stitch round. At end of round slip stitch into the first HTC (18 stitches)

Rounds 5 – 7: Repeat Round 4 three more times. Remove hook and insert stitch marker to keep stitch secure. You will pick this stitch up later to continue working in rounds so don’t cut the yarn.

HEEL – worked in yarn B

Step 1: Skip 3 stitches and fasten yarn B onto 4th stitch. Hook yarn through stitch to create a loop, pull yarn through to make a slip stitch.

Step 2: In next 11 stitches around complete the following stitches; DC, HTC, HTC, TC, TC, TC, TC, TC, HTC, HTC, DC, slip stitch into the next stitch and turn work.

Step 3: Work back along the stitches you have just created with the following stitches; DC, HTC, HTC, TC, TC, TC, TC, TC, HTC, HTC, DC, slip stitch into the stitch where you first joined yarn B and turn work.

Step 4: Work back along the stitches you have just created with the following stitches; DC, HTC, HTC, TC, TC, TC, TC, TC, HTC, HTC, DC, slip stitch into the next stitch where yarn A and B join then fasten off yarn B. Sew in ends or crochet over them during next round.

BODY OF STOCKING – worked in yarn A

Continue rounds from toe in yarn A

Round 8: Insert hook back into yarn A, chain 1 and HTC in each stitch round (18 stitches in total) . Note: your 4th HTC should be in the stitch space where the heel joins the toe and the 16th HTC will be in the last stitch of the heel. HTC 17 and 18 will be back into the remaining stitches of yarn A.

At end of round slip stitch into the first HTC (18 stitches)

Round 9: Chain 1, HTC in each stitch round. At end of round slip stitch into the first HTC marked with stitch marker. (18 stitches)

Round 10 – 12: Repeat Round 9 three more times. For the very last slip stitch use yarn B to complete the slip stitch which joins yarn B ready for the next round. You may cut yarn A at this point if you wish as you no longer need it. (18 stitches)

TRIM OF STOCKING – worked in yarn B

Round 13: With yarn B, chain 1, HTC in each stitch round. At end of round slip stitch into first HTC (18 stitches)

Round 14: Slip stitch until you get to the middle of the back of stocking, Ch 6, slip stitch into remaining stitches. Make one last slip stitch into the top loop only of the first slip stitch. Cut the yarn and pull through off hook. Sew end in going from front to back of stocking to complete round neatly.

To make them striped just pull up new colour when you do the slip stitch at the end of each round! For the cards I have just punched two holes, made a crochet chain and tied with a bow in the inside. Perfect for gifting money and double as a little something to hang on the tree year on year :) They've been given as teacher presents with chocolates in too!

A huge Merry Christmas to you all! Sending you all a festive hug! And if you use code JINGLEBELLS during checkout for any purchases or orders until next year you will get a cheeky Christmas discount!

Much love,

Mia
