Mini squares!

Updated: Apr 27, 2019

Hey everyone! Hope Thursday is being kind to you! I've had a couple of lovely messages with positive feedback from Enchanted Forest blanket club - there's always a little sigh of relief when you tell me that you love what you've received so thank you for taking the time to let me know! Thought I'd do a little post about patterns - with my Enchanted Forest blanket club I'm making these Finnish Granny Squares (doing the last round in undyed ready for joining at the end with a continuous flat braid join) but I've also done mini squares - as used for my Ombre Rainbow Blanket - which would work for Paperchain club too! I've tried to find the link to the pattern but I can't put my finger on it - I had adjusted it slightly so it's ready for a flat brain join so will share here:

Round 1: make a magic circle, chain 2 (does not count as a dc throughout), 12 dc into the circle, close circle. Join with slip stitch to first dc.

Round 2: chain 2, 2 dc into each dc from round 1. Join with slip stitch to first dc. [24]

Round 3: chain 1, *3 sc, 1hdc, dc 3 in next stitch, hdc*. Repeat 3 more times. Join with slip stitch to first sc. Mini square done! If you are joining with the flat brain join I suggest edging each square with the same colour:

Round 4: Join new colour, sc in each stitch until you get to the first corner - when you get to the three dc corner stitches, sc in first one, 3 dc in middle one, then sc in each stitch to next corner. Join with slip stitch to first sc. [40]
